Our mission
HERMETIA ILLUCENS SDN. BHD exists to make organic waste useful again. We use Hermetia illucens — the Black Soldier Fly — to convert kitchen scraps and farm by-products into fertilizer, feed, and farm-grown chicken, while teaching the community how the cycle works.
Food waste does not have to end in landfill. Through Black Soldier Fly larvae, we turn it into fertilizer, animal feed, and farm-grown protein.
We supply Sabah farmers with affordable, locally produced inputs that reduce reliance on imported feed and chemical fertilizer.
We work with schools, government, and businesses so the next generation grows up understanding circular, sustainable farming.
Company background
HERMETIA ILLUCENS SDN. BHD. was founded in Sabah to address a clear local problem: food waste piling up while farms still depend on imported feed and synthetic fertilizer. We saw an opportunity to close that loop using Black Soldier Fly larvae.
Today the company operates a working BSF facility in Keningau, partnering with food businesses for waste collection and supplying farmers with frass fertilizer and BSF-based feed. Our self-grown chicken line completes the cycle on-site.
We are registered as a wholesaler of fertilizers and agrochemical products, and we collaborate with schools and government bodies to bring practical sustainability education into the community.
