Share on FacebookWe visited University Malaysia Sabah (UMS) to discuss a future collaboration on turning organic waste into revenue through Black Soldier Fly farming.
We were delighted to visit University Malaysia Sabah (UMS) and meet with the Dean, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ching Fui Fui @ Faihana Ching Abdullah, together with lecturers Ts. Dr. Dawood Muhammad Shah and Dr. Yoong Soon Yong, along with PhD students Syed Izhar Ullah Shah and Thallita Nasywa Faddilah.
During the visit, we shared our full Black Soldier Fly rearing process — from eggs and larvae to our end products such as animal feed and frass-based organic fertiliser — and exchanged practical insights from running the operation at scale. Beyond sharing our experience, we also discussed a future collaboration with UMS on turning waste into revenue.
A key focus of the discussion was a potential future collaboration with UMS centred on turning waste into revenue: converting organic waste streams into valuable, sustainable products. We are excited about the opportunity to combine UMS's research expertise with our hands-on industry experience to advance more sustainable waste management and agriculture.
Thank you to the team from UMS for hosting us — we look forward to working together!
